The Staff Accountant supports daily through annual accounting operations with a primary focus on bank and account reconciliations, journal entries, and business license compliance. This is an onsite role requiring close collaboration with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily reconciliations for multiple bank accounts and provide accurate reporting to management
- Complete monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations
- Manage business license filings, renewals, and related reporting
- Review expense activity and identify coding or posting discrepancies
- Monitor and maintain subtenant rent schedules
- Partner with Accounts Payable and Client Services to support payment processing (Check, ACH, Wire) and bank deposits
- Assist with audit preparation by gathering and organizing supporting documentation
- Prepare and maintain financial schedules and reports using Microsoft Excel
- Research and respond to accounting and financial inquiries
- Support additional accounting functions such as cash postings and expense reimbursements as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- 2+ years of accounting or related experience preferred
- Law firm experience strongly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Accounts Payable processes highly desirable
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills to ensure timely issue resolution
- Ability to work 7.5 hours per day / 37.5 hours per week (occasional overtime may be required)
- Experience with 3E, Elite Enterprise, or similar accounting systems preferred
